Irish Economy Watch - April 2025
- Manufacturing PMI eased to 51.6 in March, indicating a slightly slower pace of growth
- The services PMI jumped to 55.3 in March, consistent with a slower pace of expansion
- Retail sales were up by 1.9% YoY in February
- Housing commencements 12 month running total back at 60k in March
- House price annual inflation slowed to +8.0% in February
- CPI inflation rate increased to 2.0% in March. HICP rate accelerated to 1.8% also
- Goods export rose by 44.5% YoY in the first two months of the year, led by another sharp increase in pharma exports
- 12 month rolling Exchequer surplus widened to €16.6bn in March
