Irish Economy Watch - September 2025
 
 
  • Manufacturing PMI stayed in expansion mode but fell to 51.6 in August.
  • The services PMI eased further to 50.6 in august, consistent with a slower pace of growth.
  • Core retail sales rose  by 1.3% in the three months to July.
  • Housing commencements 12 month running total back below 39k in August.
  • House price annual inflation eased to +7.5% in July.
  • CPI inflation rate rose to 2.0% in August. HICP rate increased to 1.9% also.   
  • Goods exports up by 33.3% YTD in July, led by a sharp increase in pharma exports (+78.9%).
  • 12 month rolling Exchequer surplus narrowed to €12.2bn in August.
