Fed holds rates steady at 22-year high for second meeting

For the second consecutive meeting and the third meeting in the last four, the US Federal Reserve Open Market Committee left its key interest rates on hold at the conclusion of its two-day meeting last night. As a result, the target range for the funds rate remains at 5.25-5.50%, a 22- year high.
